The Brazilian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Childhood and Adolescence (SOGIA-BR), founded on October 3, 1995, under the leadership of our dear master Professor Álvaro da Cunha Bastos, aims to encourage the study and scientific research of problems related to female childhood and adolescence; encourage the creation of study and assistance centers for this age group; emphasize aspects of preventive medicine; promote regional, national and international congresses and events; represent Brazil before similar national and international societies and maintain cultural exchange with societies of the species.
